It all started with the analysis of a Court of Cassation decision from 2008. A word, « Paradise », was at the centre of our debate. Was it worth being protected by intellectual property rights ? To be more precise, could the mural inscription of a certain word on a wall chosen by the author be protected by law, even if the word is common language and accessible to everyone ? Behind these questions of law appeared a name, Jakob Gautel. An idea began to emerge : to find the person behind this name and to tell his story and his itinerary, which can’t be defined solely by a lawsuit decision ...
