L'ensemble emblématique des Étoiles d'Ivry, des architectes Renée Gailhoustet et Jean Renaudie, 1969-1975. D'en haut, on voit bien que toutes les terrasses sont végétalisées. Au RDC, juste sous le pont, se trouve la Galerie Fernand Léger, la galerie d'art contemporain d'Ivry-sur-Seine.

The iconic Étoiles d'Ivry complex, designed by architects Renée Gailhoustet and Jean Renaudie, 1969-1975. From above, you can clearly see that all the terraces are planted. On the ground floor, just under the bridge, is the Galerie Fernand Léger, the contemporary art gallery of Ivry-sur-Seine.

La série Maria Theodora a été exposée en 1997 au Centre Culturel Français de Jakarta (sur invitation d'Yves Ollivier), en 1999 au domaine de Kerguéhennec, exposition Icônes (curateur Denys Zacharopoulos) et à l'Atelier sur l'Autoroute, Saint-Denis, en 2006 au Musée Zadkine, Paris (curatrice Noëlle Chabert), en 2012 à l'Hôtel Fontfreyde, Clermont-Ferrand, exposition Genius Loci (curatrice Garance Chabert) et au musée d'art contemporain MAC VAL, Vitry-sur-Seine, dans l'exposition Situation(s) [48°47'34'' N / 2°23'14'' E] (curateur Frank Lamy), en 2013 à la Orgelfabrik Karlsruhe-Durlach, dans l'exposition Ja. Fragment de plaque de marbre gravée, trouvé en Grèce, et disque de stationnement allemand. Assemblage finalisé durant le premier confinement du Covid, Paris, mars 2020.
« Panta rhei » (Πάντα ῥεῖ / Pánta rheî) est une formule de Héraclite qui, en grec ancien, signifie littéralement « Toutes les choses coulent » (dans le sens de « Tout passe »).

Clear Channel

Photo-trouvaille durant le premier confinement de Covid, lors d'une de mes promenades dans un périmètre d'1 km, place d'Italie, Paris, avril 2020. Le nom de l'entreprise de publicité marqué sur le panneau, « Clear Channel », signifie chaîne en clair, canal inutilisé. En effet.

La version Covid du Cri de Munch, avril 2020. Pendant le confinement, le téléphone portable devenait un des rares liens de communication avec l'extérieur.

“Panta rhei” (Πάντα ῥεῖ / Pánta rheî) is a concept by Heraclitus which means in ancient greek litterally “Everything flows”: everything changes, nothing is permanent.

Clear Channel

Situation discovered during the first Covid lockdown, on one of my walks limited to 1 km, place d'Italie, Paris, April 2020. The name of the publicity company marked on the pannel, “Clear Channel”, is indeed meaningful.

The Scream

A version of Munch's Scream, April 2020. During the lockdown, the cellphone became one of the rare communication links with the outside world.

Since 2012, I have been working on a research project about my grand-parents, Hermann (called Sven) Gautel and Corona Krause, and the German Bauhaus history, with support of the Aide à la recherche artistique, CNAP, France (2013-2014), of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation (artist in residence in 2017), and with the Bauhaus-Archiv Berlin, the Bauhaus Museum Weimar, Burg Giebichenstein Halle and the Landesmuseum Oldenburg. And of course with the precious help and support of the Gautel and Beyer families!

Depuis 2012, je travaille sur un projet de recherches sur mes grands-parents, Hermann (dit Sven) Gautel et Corona Krause, et l'histoire du Bauhaus en Allemagne, avec le soutien de l'Aide à la recherche artistique, CNAP, France (2013-2014), de la Fondation Bauhaus Dessau (résidence d'artiste en 2017), et avec le Bauhaus-Archiv Berlin, le Bauhaus Museum Weimar, la Burg Giebichenstein Halle et le Landesmuseum Oldenburg.
