During a demonstration against the extreme right wing party in France, the Front National, I quoted the sadly famous Nazi expression “degenerate artist”, in the typical gothic writing of the time.
My own grandfather, the painter Friedrich Stichs, was considered a “degenerate artist” and banned from exhibiting.
